As part of the Sheik Zayed Festival’s New Year’s Eve events, Abu Dhabi is preparing to attempt to break three Guinness World Records in the new year. With only a few days till the New Year, cities around the UAE are preparing for something spectacular, as they prepare to enter World records competitions.
The fireworks will last for 40 minutes, attempting to set world records for loudness, duration, and form. The festival’s organizing committee has also planned a range of folkloric and entertainment events and performances for the evening. On the night, Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali will perform alongside Iraqi artist Ali Saber.
A massive drone show will also take place to capture the moment, lighting up the skies of Al Wathba. The local news agency reported, “This will be the first show of its kind and magnitude in the world.” Along with Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah is aiming to make a stunning start to the New Year.
The city is gearing up for yet another Guinness World Record-breaking fireworks display, this time featuring pyro drones, lights, colors, and shapes. The 12-minute pyrotechnic spectacular will cover a 4.7-kilometer radius along the shoreline between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village, aiming to shatter not one but two world records.
The first attempt will be for the Highest Altitude Multirotor/Drone Firework Display, followed by the Most Remotely Operated Multirotors/Drones Launching Fireworks Simultaneously.
This year’s show will include 15,000 fireworks effects, over 130 sea pontoons, and a fleet of hundreds of pyrotechnic drones, all of which took 5,000 hours of effort to create. Orchestral and contemporary music will accompany the presentation.
