Avirex has partnered with Square Enix to release a limited apparel collection inspired by Final Fantasy VII Remake, combining military heritage with one of gaming’s most valuable intellectual properties. As entertainment brands continue to seek cross-industry growth, this collaboration positions both parties to capture demand from fashion consumers and long-standing franchise fans alike.
Product scope and design strategy
At the core of the release, the collection spans outerwear, casual apparel, and accessories, reflecting a broad commercial strategy rather than a single hero product. Notably, the lineup includes flight jackets, tanker jackets, crewneck sweatshirts, zip-up hoodies, and graphic T-shirts, ensuring accessibility across price points. Meanwhile, accessories such as flight nylon bags, caps, a commemorative ring, and a Stamp-themed dog tag extend the offering beyond apparel and into lifestyle merchandise.
Moreover, the reversible MA-1 “Midgar” bomber jacket anchors the collection as its most distinctive item. One side presents detailed artwork of Midgar, while the reverse adopts a minimal all-black finish, thereby appealing to both collectors and everyday wearers. Additionally, two A-2 flight jackets featuring custom back graphics of Tifa and Aerith reinforce the collection’s direct narrative link to the game.
Marketing execution and release timeline
To support the launch, the partners have released a campaign video incorporating in-game footage, which strengthens brand alignment and reinforces authenticity. As a result, the marketing approach leverages existing fan recognition rather than relying solely on traditional fashion advertising.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake x Avirex collection will launch on January 1, 2026, through the Avirex webstore and selected retail locations. Consequently, the timing positions the release to benefit from early-year consumer spending while maintaining momentum from the franchise’s global audience.
