Demna has unveiled his final ready-to-wear collection for Balenciaga, marking the end of a transformative era for the House. Titled “Exactitudes,” the Spring 2026 lineup revisits the archetypes that defined his ten-year tenure, blending iconic silhouettes, daring aesthetics, and personal wardrobe staples into one definitive runway statement.
A Decade of Vision Comes Full Circle
“This collection embodies the multitude of design codes that have been part of my creative vision and research on fashion at Balenciaga for a decade,” Demna explained. “It combines pieces from 35 different collections with new garments from my own closet.”
The title, Exactitudes, draws inspiration from a photographic series by Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek. It nods to Demna’s anthropological take on fashion, dissecting how people dress and the thin line between luxury and everyday wear.
The result is a remix of Demna’s most iconic creations — including oversized outerwear, sculptural gowns, exaggerated shoulders, streetwear-inspired formals, sock sneakers, and massive statement bags. Each piece also feels like a signature, a chapter in the House’s evolution under his direction.
A Swan Song Etched in Style
Throughout his decade at Balenciaga, Demna reshaped the brand into a global powerhouse, increasing its value from $400 million to $2 billion USD. His theatrical runway productions — set in fake snowstorms, muddy arenas, or stock market stages — became must-see moments. He reached both the fashion elite and casual audiences, proving that his creative vision transcended traditional luxury boundaries.
Whether praised or critiqued, Demna’s influence is undeniable. His final ready-to-wear offering is a fitting farewell, not only to the brand he helped reinvent but also to the loyal community that followed his vision. As he prepares to present his last couture collection this July, the Spring 2026 show serves as a heartfelt tribute to his decade-long journey.
“Thank you and love forever,” Demna concluded, closing the chapter with characteristic flair.
