Bocci, the renowned multidisciplinary design studio, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the launch of two innovative lighting concepts: the 141 and 14 Pyramid. These designs will debut in a large-scale, site-specific installation in New York City, marking a new chapter in the studio’s exploration of materials and form.

The 141 Fixture: A Masterpiece of Glasswork

The Bocci 141 light fixture reflects Bocci’s refined approach to experimental design. Under the artistic direction of Omer Arbel, artisans craft each piece using a single-action glass-pouring technique. Unlike previous designs that rely on intricate layering, 141 embraces simplicity. By freehand-pouring two ladles of molten glass over a curved rod, designers create overlapping pools. As they lift the glass, it swings naturally into a fluid, organic shape, combining spontaneity with expert craftsmanship.

The 14 Pyramid: A Bold Reinvention

Since its introduction in 2005, the 14 series has remained a cornerstone of Bocci’s collection. Now, the 14 Pyramid brings a fresh perspective. Developed in collaboration with David Alhadeff of The Future Perfect, this new version reimagines Bocci’s signature suspension system. With its geometric arrangement, the design balances structure and fluidity, enhancing the interplay of light and shadow.

By introducing a pyramid formation, this fixture strengthens Bocci’s vision of merging functionality with sculptural artistry. Its bold architectural presence makes it an ideal choice for contemporary interiors seeking a distinctive, avant-garde aesthetic.
