A limited-edition masterpiece inspired by NASA’s “Black Marble” with a personalised world-time function. Blending heritage and innovation, the Marine Hora Mundi 5555 celebrates Breguet’s 250 years of horological excellence.
A Nocturnal Vision of Earth
Breguet marks its 250th anniversary with the Marine Hora Mundi 5555, a timepiece that captures the poetry of Earth at night. Limited to 50 pieces, it debuts in warm Breguet gold and draws inspiration from NASA’s “Black Marble” imagery, where illuminated cities stand out against the deep-blue globe.
This special edition allows collectors to customise the city disc for any of the 24 time zones, making each watch not only a technical marvel but also a deeply personal companion for global travellers.
A Dial of Rare Complexity
The Hora Mundi 5555 showcases a remarkable two-layer dial construction. Beneath, a solid gold base is hand-guillochéd with meridians and parallels, its gradient tones evoking sea and sky. Above it, a sapphire disc reveals a threefold enamel composition: reverse-engraved continents fired in grand feu, hand-painted floating clouds, and phosphorescent enamel dots representing city lights.
This patented artistry ensures that no two dials are alike, with each cloudscape and nightscape rendered uniquely. It is both a celebration of craftsmanship and a meditation on the beauty of our planet in motion.
Technical Mastery and Heritage
At 43.9 mm, the Marine case houses the caliber 77F1, a movement introduced in 2022 and protected by several patents. It allows for instantaneous switching between home and local time at the press of a pusher, with synchronised date-jump and day/night indication.
Through its sapphire caseback, the oscillating weight in gold-toned finishing is framed by guilloché decoration dedicated to the Maison’s “Quai de l’Horloge” legacy. In this way, the 5555 unites Breguet’s centuries-old savoir-faire with contemporary horological innovation.
