CAMPERLAB, led by Finnish designer Achilles Ion Gabriel, has launched its first standalone store dedicated to the brand’s unisex footwear, apparel, and accessories. Designed by Crosby Studios, the space offers an unconventional retail experience, seamlessly merging futuristic aesthetics with raw architectural elements.

Located at 15 rue Debelleyme in Le Marais, the store fully embraces Crosby Studios’ concept of “Transformism.” This innovative approach reshapes familiar materials and objects, significantly altering spatial perception. From the exterior, jagged concrete walls create an intriguing visual, offering enticing glimpses of the store’s interior. Inside, CAMPERLAB’s fixtures are strategically integrated into concrete displays, enhancing the avant-garde presentation. The design leans heavily on Crosby Studios’ signature elements, featuring smooth greyscale surfaces and polished chrome accents, which add a striking contrast.
Crosby Studios’ Influence on Modern Retail
Founded by Harry Nuriev, Crosby Studios is renowned for its immersive installations, playful concepts, and refined interiors. With offices in New York and Paris, the firm has contributed to notable retail projects, including Frame’s Paris boutique and Alexander Wang’s SoHo store. As a result, the CAMPERLAB space reflects this distinctive style, making a bold statement in modern retail design.
Achilles Ion Gabriel has been instrumental in shaping CAMPERLAB’s identity since joining the brand five years ago. Under his leadership, the label has steadily expanded its product range, successfully balancing functionality with avant-garde aesthetics. The Paris store serves as a physical embodiment of this vision, reinforcing the brand’s unique presence in the fashion industry. Moreover, this new retail concept highlights CAMPERLAB’s commitment to pushing design boundaries while maintaining commercial appeal.
A Digital Expansion to Match the Physical Space
Coinciding with the store’s launch, CAMPERLAB has introduced a redesigned website in collaboration with Giga Design Studio. The digital platform effectively extends the Brutalist sensibilities of the Paris store into the online realm, ensuring a seamless brand experience. By doing so, the brand strengthens its identity and enhances customer engagement. This strategic move aims to establish CAMPERLAB as a distinct entity within the Camper universe, further solidifying its position in the global fashion landscape.
