Danish fashion designer Cecilie Bahnsen has teamed up with renowned Japanese accessories label PORTER for a special-edition capsule celebrating Yoshida & Co., Ltd.’s 90th anniversary. Launching on June 5, the collection infuses Bahnsen’s signature romanticism into PORTER’s utilitarian bags through delicate laser-cut floral motifs and soft, monochromatic palettes.
This is the second installment in PORTER’s year-long celebratory series, and Bahnsen’s touch brings a poetic contrast to the brand’s legacy of functional design. Known for her previous collaborations with brands like Asics and The North Face, Bahnsen now shifts her focus to accessories—reimagining utility through an emotionally driven lens.
A Trio of Romantic Functionality
The capsule features three key pieces. First is a black nylon backpack, rendered in Bahnsen’s hallmark aesthetic with tonal floral embroidery and laser-cut detailing. It’s a refined, minimalist take on rugged style.
Next is the 2 Way Tool Bag, offered in three colorways: olive khaki, black, and a soft baby Gratian blue. The design blends the form of a handbag with the structure of a classic tool bag, making it both versatile and elegant.
Completing the collection is the Bonsac Mini, also available in the same trio of shades. Compact and refined, it’s a scaled-down piece that highlights Bahnsen’s subtle approach to luxury and PORTER’s mastery of craft.
Romantic Minimalism Meets Japanese Utility
“This is a romantic act,” Bahnsen explained in a statement. “It’s about sorting through memories while deciding what to keep and what to reconstruct.” Her interpretation gives new emotional depth to PORTER’s resilient nylon, proving that durability and delicacy can coexist.
With this collaboration, PORTER not only celebrates its 90-year heritage but also evolves its aesthetic vocabulary—honouring the past while exploring new creative territory.
The Cecilie Bahnsen x PORTER collection will be available from June 5 at PORTER SHINJUKU and via Yoshida & Co.’s web store.
