While Coachella is globally renowned for its blockbuster music line-up, the festival’s art installations have long held their own as headline-worthy attractions. As Weekend Two of Coachella 2025 pulses through Indio, California, large-scale art once again claims the spotlight, turning the desert expanse into a surreal and interactive gallery.
Curated by Public Art Company alongside veteran Goldenvoice Art Director Paul Clemente, this year’s selection welcomes visitors to wander through moments of reflection, kinetic play, and visual storytelling, all woven seamlessly between the music stages.
Returning Icons and New Creative Voices
Festival staples like Robert Bose’s whimsical balloon chain, the futuristic designs of NEWSUBSTANCE, and community-driven contributions from Do LaB, Don Kennell, and Raices Cultura have returned to Coachella’s creative fold. But this year also introduces a lineup of fresh installations, each inviting festivalgoers to pause, interact, and immerse themselves in the imaginative heartbeat of the event.

Take Flight
London-based design duo Isabel + Helen have unveiled a striking 60-foot kinetic sculpture inspired by early flying machines. Dozens of wind-powered turbines spin hypnotically, driven solely by the desert breeze. This thought-provoking structure marries mechanical design with nature’s energy, continuing the studio’s tradition of exploring wearable and environmental art in motion.
Taffy
Canadian artist Stephanie Lin offers a sculptural marvel shaped by desert light and shade. Standing at 50 feet tall, this cylindrical cluster of seven mesh-clad towers shifts with the sun, casting moiré patterns that ripple across the festival grounds. Visitors are encouraged to relax on the curved benches nestled beneath its vibrant canopies, fostering a quiet communion with the structure’s soft, organic form.
Le Grand Bouquet
Parisian art collective Uchronia delivers a playful homage to the Coachella Valley’s natural beauty with Le Grand Bouquet. The installation features a towering 32-foot-tall inflatable bouquet, flanked by six smaller clusters of whimsical, oversized blooms. Inspired by California’s seasonal wildflowers and the bright aesthetic of 1960s and ’70s flower power, this inflatable oasis offers both vibrant photo ops and shaded spaces for sun-soaked festivalgoers to unwind.
A Festival Where Art Blooms Alongside Sound
Each year, Coachella’s visual arts program deepens the festival’s reputation as more than just a music event — offering attendees a multi-sensory journey that balances sound, light, and form. As the sun sets over Indio, these installations take on new life, turning the desert into a glowing canvas where imagination knows no bounds.
