G-SHOCK has partnered with Coca-Cola to release the GA-2100CC-3A, a limited-edition timepiece that reinterprets brand heritage through material innovation. Rather than relying on overt graphic branding, the design focuses on subtle references to the iconic Coca-Cola contour bottle, positioning the watch within a broader dialogue between product design and cultural symbolism.
Translucent materials reference archival glass design
G-SHOCK is celebrating 140 years of Coca-Cola with the new GA-2100CC-3A timepiece. Built upon the beloved octagonal framework of the GA-2100 series, this latest collaborative model strips back the expected bright red branding in favor of a specialized material execution inspired by the classic Coca-Cola contour glass bottle.
Crafted with meticulous attention to tactile and visual details, the timepiece features a streamlined case and bezel cast in translucent green bio-based resin. This specific color application directly mimics the distinctive tint of vintage Coca-Cola glass bottles. The material choice extends to the matching bio-based resin band, ensuring the timepiece maintains G-SHOCK‘s signature durability while utilizing an eco-conscious manufacturing approach.

Consequently, the design foregrounds material as narrative, using colour and translucency to evoke historical references without direct replication. Moreover, the integration of bio-based resin reflects an increasing emphasis on sustainability within industrial design.
Dial details integrate narrative and function
The underlying architecture utilizes Casio’s proven Carbon Core Guard structure, keeping the watch lightweight at just 51 grams while offering rigorous shock and 200-meter water resistance.
Looking at the dial, the design layers functional watch mechanics with nuanced thematic nods. The textured brown surface utilizes a printed pattern meant to evoke carbonation bubbles, contrasting against prominent rose-gold hour markers. A custom bottle graphic serves as the day-of-week indicator at the 9 o’clock position, incorporating the fluted motif of the contour bottle. This same fluted texturing is mirrored on the bio-resin band loop, while the stainless steel case back is finished with an exclusive bottle-cap engraving.
Therefore, each design element operates across both aesthetic and functional registers. In addition, dual LED illumination and a three-year battery life reinforce the model’s technical reliability.
GA-2100 legacy continues to shape contemporary watch design
To understand the weight of any new 2100 release, you have to look back at the seismic shift the model caused upon its debut in 2019. Originally launched as a quiet addition to the G-SHOCK catalog, the GA-2100’s slim profile and distinct octagonal bezel instantly drew comparisons to the legendary Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
The community quickly dubbed it the “CasiOak,” sparking a wave of customization and aftermarket adaptations. As a result, G-SHOCK expanded the line with metal-clad and full-metal iterations, bridging accessible design with luxury watch aesthetics.
The Coca-Cola x G-SHOCK GA-2100CC-3A will be available in May 2026 via Casio’s webstore, priced at ¥27,500 JPY (approximately $175 USD). Ultimately, the release demonstrates how contemporary product design continues to reinterpret heritage through material innovation and cultural reference.
