Daily Paper and Oakley have officially launched their first collaboration, unveiling a bold reinterpretation of Oakley’s iconic Gascan frame. The limited-edition eyewear fuses Afro-Futurist aesthetics with high-performance design, marking a significant step in both brands’ creative evolution.
The Amsterdam-based fashion label, known for its Afrocentric storytelling, has long featured Oakley eyewear in its campaigns. This new partnership formalises that relationship, blending Daily Paper’s cultural narrative with Oakley’s sportswear innovation.
Fusing Heritage with Innovation
The centrepiece of the collaboration is a matte-finished Gascan silhouette enhanced with a bold electric-blue Oakley “O” and a sleek Daily Paper logo on the lens. This aerodynamic, high-wrap frame embodies both brands’ commitment to pushing boundaries in fashion, performance, and identity.
The design draws inspiration from Afro-Futurism—a recurring theme in Daily Paper’s collections that celebrates African heritage through futuristic lenses. This approach aligns with Oakley’s recent evolution under Travis Scott, who was appointed Chief Visionary Officer earlier this year.
In addition to the Gascan, the partnership includes a special edition “RSLV” frame, gifted exclusively to friends and family.
A Campaign Rooted in Community
To launch the eyewear, Daily Paper and Oakley tapped former football star Djibril Cissé as the face of their campaign. Known for his distinctive personal style, Cissé perfectly embodies the collaboration’s message: a bold statement of heritage, self-expression, and rule-breaking style.
In a joint statement, the brands said the frames were designed “for those rewriting the rules of style, sport, and identity.”
