Historic To-ji Temple Hosts April Event
Dior has announced plans to unveil its Pre-Fall 2025 collection at Kyoto’s historic To-ji Temple and Gardens on April 15, 2025, emphasizing its continued focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
A Tribute to Japanese Heritage
The To-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was established in 796 to protect Kyoto, the former capital of Japan. Dior’s Women’s Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, noted the city’s rich history of craftsmanship and its creative influence on Christian Dior, who collaborated with Kyoto-based silk workshops in the 1950s.
Chiuri stated, “The cradle of exclusive craftsmanship honed by generations of gifted artisans, Kyoto offers a unique context to reignite creative exchanges.”
Dior’s Global Fashion Journey
Following shows in Seoul, Mumbai, and New York, the Kyoto event reflects Dior’s strategy to intertwine local tradition with modern design. The collection is expected to celebrate the brand’s historical ties to Japan and showcase its fusion of tradition and reinvention.
