Dr. Azra, a Dubai-based doctor, henna artist, and accessories designer with 145,000 Instagram followers, has collaborated with streetwear label Les Benjamins on a Ramadan capsule collection. The genderless collection, dubbed “Peace in the Middle East,” is available in stores and online, including Les Benjamins’ newly opened Dubai flagship in the Mall of the Emirates.

The 14-piece capsule includes a denim jacket with the phrase “Peace in the Middle East” emblazoned on the back, matching patchwork jeans, long and short-sleeved checkerboard shirts, relaxed trousers, long skirts, and a checked leather handbag with flower and heart motifs that also appear on the oversized sweatshirts in the collection.

Khamissa, contemporary artist best known for geometric henna designs says;  “Launching the ‘Peace in the Middle East’ collection during Ramadan is a reminder that for some people this month isn’t easy or peaceful.”

A sahoor party was held in Dubai’s newly opened 25Hours hotel to commemorate the capsule collection. The collection follows the introduction of the Istanbul-based label’s Morocco-inspired spring 2022 ready-to-wear offering, which was formed by Turkish-German creative director Bunyamin Aydin and his wife, Saudi womenswear designer Lamia Al-Otaishan.

The collection, titled “The Mystic Journey,” is inspired by the vibrant colours and patterns found in the work of French painter Jacques Majorelle and the gardens of Marrakesh.
