At Paris Fashion Week, Dries Van Noten revealed its Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection titled Just a Perfect Day, marking creative director Julian Klausner’s official debut. Presented on a runway dusted with yellow sand, the show evoked a sun-washed serenity while ushering in a new chapter for the storied fashion house.

Although calm and relaxed at first glance, the collection carried an undercurrent of tension. Klausner played with structure and contrast, pairing sharp tailoring with bold patterns and layered silhouettes. The result was a refined yet subversive take on contemporary menswear.

Tailoring with a Twist

Structured pieces took centre stage. Jackets and tops with cinched waists or peplum shapes challenged traditional masculine silhouettes. Meanwhile, bold textures and vivid prints infused each look with a sense of energy. These design choices created a visual tension—strong lines meeting fluid fabrics, and classic tailoring colliding with modern flourishes.

To balance these elements, Klausner introduced volume through relaxed layers. Longline shirts, flowing trousers, and oversized coats were styled together in clashing colours. Yet despite the deliberate dissonance, the combinations felt intentional and fresh.

Elevated Styling, Subversive Themes

Throughout the show, contrast remained a guiding principle. Pinstripes were stacked over more pinstripes, while geometric shapes clashed playfully with floral motifs. Accessories like sunglasses, belts, and crossbody bags were integrated seamlessly, adding cohesion and polish to each look.

Klausner’s collection didn’t aim to reinvent menswear entirely, but rather to redefine its boundaries. His designs invited viewers to reconsider what ease and elegance can look like today—structured, layered, and deliberately off-centre.

With this confident debut, Dries Van Noten embarks on a new era of menswear innovation, one that is equal parts experimental and refined. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection signals a shift toward emotional tailoring and narrative dressing, with Klausner positioning himself as a voice to watch in modern fashion.
