Drought, the design collective led by Jake Olshan, is once again channeling tech nostalgia into bold home décor. Known for turning unconventional ideas into statement pieces — from a bloodied knife-shaped mirror to the recent iPod Nano-inspired iMirror — the collective’s latest release pays tribute to one of the most beloved creative apps of the digital age: Microsoft Paint.
This time, Drought reimagines the classic Windows 95 MS Paint interface as a functional and eye-catching wall mirror. Standing at an impressive four feet tall, the Drought MS Paint Mirror perfectly captures the visual charm of the original software interface.
True to its inspiration, the mirror features an upper toolbar complete with clickable options — ending with “Drought” as a playful final menu item. A function bar lines the left side, while a scroll bar runs down the right. Along the bottom, the mirror includes another scroll bar paired with the signature color palette that every ’90s kid remembers from hours spent doodling on MS Paint.
To mark the launch, Drought rolled out an immersive campaign video along with a dedicated lookbook that highlights the mirror’s quirky digital-to-physical transformation.
If you’re ready to add a playful dash of retro tech to your living space, the Drought MS Paint Mirror is available now for $395 USD through Drought’s official website.
