Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) organised an open day at “Concrete” in Alserkal Avenue to give creatives an overview of the project’s developments and involve them throughout the process in a way that would support the growth and prosperity of their businesses and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the zone for it to become a de facto creative hub due to Dubai Culture’s desire to improve channels of communication with members of Dubai’s creative community.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Police, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Municipality, the Government of Dubai Media Office, the Digital Dubai Authority, wasl Asset Management Group (wasl), and the Authority’s partners, including Zoho, LinkedIn, Letswork, Hayi app, and the Commercial Bank of Dhs, participated in the open day under the direction of Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture. Numerous creative professionals and business owners from Dubai who want to grow and develop their companies attended the gathering as well.
In her opening remarks, Badri reaffirmed that this gathering is one in a series of gatherings that Dubai Culture and its partners are doing to give members of the creative community a forum for dialogue, empower them, and support their work.
Many attendees expressed their satisfaction with the Al Quoz Creative Zone Development Project and their hope for the success of creative enterprises in the emirate in the future. Rabab Tantawi, an artist, complimented Dubai Culture and its partners for their efforts and emphasised that they offer fantastic facilities that assist creatives focus on growing their enterprises and abilities, making Dubai a true incubator for creatives.
Patricia Mills, a resident of Dubai for 40 years, expressed her gratitude to Dubai Culture and its partners for giving budding artists and creatives a perfect location to launch their endeavours and help make Dubai the centre of the world’s creative economy. Artist Afshin recognised that Dubai is the ideal location for all talents and creatives from around the world.
Following the declaration of the Al Quoz Creative Zone and the establishment of the project’s Higher Committee in April 2021, Dubai Culture organised the “Al Quoz Accelerators” workshop in the presence of the Authority’s partners, representatives of the committee members, and the creative community to actively involve members of this community in the development of original ideas to improve Al Quoz and find the best solutions to any challenges they may face. The project’s higher committee recently conducted its fourth meeting, during which it discussed the project’s accomplishments in the year since its inception and the plans for the next phase.
