The “Be Happy, Be Creative” summer camp is set to begin on July 19 and run through July 28 in the Al Fahidi Historic Neighborhood. Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) promises children an experience of learning, fun, and creativity with a package full of educational workshops and engaging and creative activities.

Children between the ages of 7 and 12 will have a unique adventure throughout the camp days in the original and authentically Emirati Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. A creative schedule put together by Dubai Culture offers a variety of artistic, educational, and cultural seminars, neighborhood tours, movie presentations, puppet shows, fun sports, and entertainment activities.

The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood summer camp’s project manager, Laila Abdulla Belhoush, reaffirmed that this initiative fits within the Authority’s cultural mandate to foster children’s creativity and innovation and to encourage a culture of active participation from society members by incorporating art and creativity throughout Dubai. This promotes the identification and nurturing of national talents and gives kids the chance to make the most of their summer break from school.

Belhoush explained the significance of this camp in the following way: “The camp is an important activity in developing children’s intellectual skills and enhancing their abilities to take responsibility and build friendships outside of schools or families. It also contributes to filling children’s days during the summer vacation.

Belhoush continued, “Dubai Culture believes in the significance of ensuring that culture is accessible to everyone through extensive cultural events, museums, and heritage sites that celebrate authentic national identity and the rich Emirati heritage as well as support the development of pride in the community members. Through the summer camp in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, we hope to raise awareness of historical places among younger people and preserve Emirati cultural heritage in their minds and hearts, inspiring them to continue Dubai’s and the UAE’s progress toward prosperity.

The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood’s Events House No. 19 is where camp activities are held daily from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Workshops and courses are offered in Arabic from July 19 through July 21 and in English from July 26 through July 28.

Dubai Culture has a significant impact on advancing the UAE government’s goal of creating a knowledge-based society. The Authority is dedicated to promoting the emirate’s cultural and creative environment and skillfully incorporating cultural content into the UAE’s educational curricula, which helps to foster pride in national heritage and culture in the next generation of students.
