This November, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will host a series of 37 interactive workshops under its “School of Life” initiative across various Dubai Public Library branches. With the theme ‘Towards a Healthy Life,’ these workshops will cover a diverse range of topics aimed at enhancing both physical and mental well-being while fostering creativity and learning.

Workshops will be hosted across several innovative clubs within the libraries, such as Wellness & Nutrition, Cinema & Photography, Calligraphy, Career Development, Art, Book, and Chess clubs. These sessions are designed to offer participants unique experiences in personal development, creative arts, and professional growth.

At Al Safa Art & Design Library, attendees can join the Wellness and Nutrition Club, which will include a Pilates session led by the Pilates Academy to promote mental and physical balance. In line with the healthy lifestyle theme, Al Twar Public Library will host the Sleepwell Retreat, targeted at teens aged 15 to 18, helping them improve their sleep quality and overall well-being. Meanwhile, Al Mankhool Library will feature the Healthy Treats Lab, where Dr. Ronza Diab will guide participants in crafting nutritious and delicious snacks. For younger attendees, Hor Al Anz Library will offer a First Aid & Emergency Skills workshop in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defence, teaching children aged 8 to 14 essential first aid and emergency response techniques.

Al Safa Art & Design Library will also host the Wellness & Nutrition Open Day, which will feature family fitness activities, competitions, health consultations, live cooking demonstrations, and more. Local vendors will also offer various wellness products.

For photography enthusiasts, Al Mankhool Library will present two sessions led by Touma Bittar. The first, ‘Capturing the Perfect Shot,’ will focus on photography strategies for identifying beauty in everyday angles, while the second, ‘Cinematic Lighting,’ will dive into the use of lighting techniques to enhance storytelling.

Chess enthusiasts aged six and above can join Al Mankhool Library’s Chess Club, which will feature four sessions on strategic play, including advanced tactics and preparing for tournaments.

Additionally, Al Safa Art & Design Library will present four unique Art Club sessions. Notable sessions include ‘Nature in One Colour’ by Magdi Kafraoui and ‘Jewelled Art (Metal Emboss)’ by Medaf Creative Studio, exploring intricate details in art using innovative techniques.

The diverse offering from Dubai Culture ensures that individuals of all ages and interests can engage in creative, educational, and wellness-focused activities, enriching their lives while encouraging the development of new skills.
