Emiratis and their love for cycling will sparkle again as one of the most awaited bicycle rides ‘Dubai Ride’ is returning to the city this November. As a part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, hundreds of cyclists will take to the streets of Sheikh Zayed Road as they take part in the event.

Last year, Dubai Ride was a huge hit among fitness enthusiasts with over 20,000 individuals taking part. This year too, the same enthusiasm is expected as organisers hope for an even bigger number of participations.

The 14 kilometres challenge will take the participants through some of the iconic places of Dubai, that includes the Safa Park, the iconic Museum of the Future, Emirates Towers and Downtown Dubai.

What makes this cycling ride challenge is that participants need to begin at 5.30 AM and finish the ride by 7.30 AM, for the traffic to reopen.

Talking about the event, Ahmed Alkhaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said, “Last year, we made history when H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, led the cyclists onto Sheikh Zayed Road for the very first time. Not only is Dubai Ride a fun event for the whole family, but it also allows us to take advantage of our great weather and embrace a more active, outdoor lifestyle. I look forward to seeing the spectacle of thousands of cyclists on 5th November, and helping to make Dubai an even happier, healthier city.”

Apart from the 14km ride, there is also a small 4-kilometre family route that will take place around the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard near Burj Khalifa.
