Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has introduced the first-ever Dubai Sculpture Symposium 2024, a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing Dubai’s visual identity through the art of sculpture. The event supports the emirate’s Public Art Strategy, aspiring to transform Dubai into an open-air art museum while reinforcing its reputation as a global hub for culture, creativity, and talent.
Running until 22 December at the historic Al Shindagha District, the symposium fosters a creative platform for local and international sculptors to share techniques, experiences, and knowledge. This initiative also aligns with the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, focusing on creating a vibrant cultural and artistic ecosystem while encouraging community engagement with public art.
The symposium has drawn 15 acclaimed sculptors from the UAE, the Gulf region, and around the world. Notable participants include Emirati sculptor Azza Al Qubaisi, Syrian artist Aktham Abdul Hamid, Bulgarian artist Georgi Minchev, and Chinese artist Liu Yang, who will exhibit their skills and innovative approaches to sculpture.
