Egypt International Art Fair is all set to return to its capital, Cairo. The organizers of the second edition of the Egypt International Art Fair (EAF) revealed in an official press release that the event will take place between 26 and 28 February.
The three-day fair is considered to be one of the most prominent art events in Egypt. The local artist gets a platform to showcase their art. This fair is bringing together works by more than 120 local and regional artists, including those from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, the UAE and Algeria, among others.
More than twenty artists from Egypt will join the fair, including Ahmed Abdel-Wahab, Sabri Mansour, Abdel-Ghaffar Shadid, George Bahgoury, Mohamed Abla, Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Mohsen, Fathi Afifi, Essam Maarouf, Islam Zahir, and Wael Darwish, among others. Additionally, the fair will present the remarkable works of the late artist Sami Rafi, who passed away in 2019. The fair’s second edition will pay a special homage the late artist Omar El-Nagdi, who also passed away in 2019.
In this large scope of creative works, EAF hopes to present a multitude of artistic experiences marking the few generations of the Arab world.
“In such challenging times, the fair is a rare window of opportunity for the art movement in Egypt and the region to rise again and recover from this harsh ordeal that afflicted the region and the world at large.”
The Egypt International Art Fair is supervised by a council of elders, consisting of 12 members, including artists, businessmen, critics and filmmakers from Egypt and the Arab world. The fair will be held from Friday to Sunday at the Dusit Thani Lake View Cairo.
The organisers said all safety measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus will be strictly adopted during the event.
