The Laughter Factory Dubai Celebrates 30 Years of Comedy

The Laughter Factory marks 30 years of bringing international stand-up comedy to audiences across the UAE, continuing a long-running tradition of live shows built around emerging talent, established performers, and shared laughter.
For more than three decades, The Laughter Factory has become a familiar part of the UAE’s comedy scene. Its shows have brought together friends, couples, first-time visitors, and regular audiences for evenings centred on live stand-up and the atmosphere of a comedy room.
The club’s story began at a time when stand-up comedy was still developing as a major part of the region’s entertainment landscape. Since then, The Laughter Factory has consistently introduced comedians from the UK, USA, Ireland, Australia, and other parts of the world to audiences in the UAE.
One of the enduring attractions of its shows has been the opportunity to discover performers before they reach larger international stages. Over the years, comedians who have appeared at The Laughter Factory have gone on to build wider audiences and successful careers, giving regular visitors an early look at rising names in comedy.
September Line-up
This September, The Laughter Factory brings together four comedians with distinctly different backgrounds and approaches to stand-up.
Kelsey De Almeida leads the line-up as a rising name on the international comedy circuit. UK reviewer Julia Chamberlain has tipped him for major success, adding to growing attention around his work.
Aideen McQueen joins the bill with a style known for high energy, sharp storytelling, and an unapologetic delivery. The UK and Ireland-based comedian has earned recognition for performances that combine personality with carefully developed material, including praise from the Irish Times.
Italian comedian Luca Cupani brings a more understated approach. The award-winning performer explores British life, cultural differences, and the peculiarities of everyday experience through dry European wit and intelligent observations.
Completing the line-up is Dubai-based comedian Tanveer Khan, whose material draws on experiences of living across India, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. His observational comedy touches on family, ambition, and everyday experiences, making him a familiar name within Dubai’s comedy circuit.
The Laughter Factory Experience
The appeal of The Laughter Factory extends beyond the performers themselves. Audiences can arrive early, enjoy a drink, settle into the venue, and spend the evening watching an international stand-up line-up. The experience can continue after the show, with comedians having the opportunity to mingle with audience members.
The Laughter Factory’s 30-year milestone also reflects the community that has developed around its shows. Month after month, audiences have returned to familiar venues across the UAE to discover new comedians, support established performers, and enjoy the simple connection that live comedy creates.
With shows taking place at venues including Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel, Studio One Hotel, Bla Bla Dubai, Radisson Hotel Dubai, Damac Hills, and The Club at Mina Sadiyat in Abu Dhabi, the anniversary season continues that tradition across both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Three decades after it began, The Laughter Factory remains closely associated with international stand-up in the UAE, bringing together diverse comedy styles and audiences in venues across the country.
