The Wyndham Art Gallery announced the opening of the exhibitions Between US and Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy on January 19 and their respective runs through March 19. “Come and see the Wyndham Art Gallery and be absorbed in these two distinct and exciting new shows,” said Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre.
“Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy is Connor Ovenden-first Shaw’s solo exhibition, and Between Us is Wyndham native Ivy Mutuku’s debut appearance in the capacity of guest curator. Both displays showcase the incredible talent in our neighborhood. The Wyndham City Council is dedicated to fostering the arts in the community, and we are working to establish Wyndham as a city that values, respects, and embraces the arts, culture, and creative expression,” said Cr. McIntyre.
“Ivy Mutuku’s Between Us show is displayed upstairs in the Gallery and explores the significance of friendships and why we need them,” said Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder Cr Marcel Mahfoud.
The main floor of the Gallery is dedicated to Connor Ovenden-exhibit, Shaw’s “Content Warning: Queer, Fat, Sexy,” which “explores the myriad elements of queer identity in every shade, diving into questions of identity and community.”
