With its next Digital Extravaganza exhibition, which runs from May 13 to August 31, 2022, Dubai’s Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) will add a new dimension to the city’s culture. ToDA has called on artists all over the world to demonstrate their talents through projects that cross several realms and dimensions with this new media spectacular.
ToDA, a multisensory story experience, is located in Souk Madinat Jumeirah and invites visitors to envision themselves as travelers. It will transport visitors to uncharted regions on Planet Earth and distant galaxies, finally immersing them in the Metaverse gallery, which the phygital platform Arhead built specifically for the exhibition. Participants will see multiple viewpoints of visual art by rotating between Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, MetaReality, AI, and good old video.
ToDA will also hold the world’s first digital model and visualization of artificial intelligence, known as SYNTI. This 3D holographic figure, which is linked to a language bot, will converse with visitors about the exhibition and digital art.
In response to ToDA’s international open call, the innovative works of four renowned digital artists will be presented alongside the contemporary art of ten winners selected from nearly hundreds of applications. For those who want to go deeper into the artworks, NFTs will be issued, as well as 3D assets ready for AR and ToDA’s Metaverse environment.
ToDA opens the door to an unreal virtual universe in the real world via the views of the best established and rising artists from across the world, all under one roof.
