Jie Gao earned a bachelor’s degree in arts and amazed the world with his expertise in oil painting, concept art, character animation, game design, texturing, visual effects, video games, and animation.
He began exhibiting at a young age, and his work is now widely recognized in the French and Chinese art worlds. Being constantly curious about new topics, Jie is committed to focusing his time and energy on a single goal. His life motto is to be sure of himself in everything he does, whether it’s drawing or living.
Being inspired by the environment and people, he enjoys wandering down the street, visiting communities, and conversing with and watching them for no apparent reason. He strongly believes that there is always so much beauty waiting for him to unearth. That kind of beauty never fails to inspire him.
Jie aims to create something fresh in terms of the form and content of the painting, simultaneously sharing his understanding and knowledge of painting to inspire and help other people who are learning to paint. In the world of art, after mastering the skills accumulated by predecessors, if he can innovate based on this foundation, even a small step, he believes, is remarkable.
When it comes to awards and accomplishments, his personal oil painting book, “Contemporary Oil Paintings Selected by Jie Gao,” was released in China in 2018. His recent achievements include winning the Creative Quarterly fine art competition in 2017, being the finalist in the Clyde & Co Oil Painting Competition in 2016, and being named Outstanding Artwork in the Academy of Art University in 2014 among many others.
