Los Angeles will host the world’s first museum dedicated to AI-generated arts in 2025, called DATALAND, at the Gehry-designed Grand LA. Co-founded by Refik Anadol and Efsun Erkılıç, this groundbreaking space will explore the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence.
Anadol, the museum’s artistic director, emphasized Los Angeles as an ideal location due to its innovation in art, cinema, and technology. He called the museum’s concept “a dream come true,” where AI and human imagination fuse in a new paradigm of artistic expression.
DATALAND is designed not just to display AI art but to serve as a community hub for creativity and collaboration, encouraging visitors to push the limits of art and technology. Co-founder Erkılıç highlighted the museum’s transformative potential, noting how it would transport audiences to new realms of discovery and imagination, fusing human creativity with innovation.
While Refik Anadol’s work has been showcased worldwide, having a permanent space will allow for bolder and boundary-pushing projects. The founders envision DATALAND as a dynamic venue where audiences of all ages can experience the synergy between data and artistic expression.
