At Paris Fashion Week, Song for the Mute offered a first look at its upcoming adidas Samba OG SFTM-010 sneakers. The preview, delivered through flatlays and in-hand imagery, signals a continuation of the collaboration’s measured, design-led approach. As a result, the release reinforces the Samba’s role as a commercially resilient platform within the broader sneaker market.
Design execution and material focus
The sneaker arrives in three colorways—black, brown, and green—each built from a combination of leather and suede that creates a layered, tactile finish. While the upper maintains the Samba’s low-profile proportions, it introduces refinements such as tonal stitching across the quarters and a restrained interpretation of the Three Stripes. In addition, understated co-branding appears on the tongue, while flat laces align closely with each colorway. The gum outsole remains unchanged, preserving the model’s recognizable foundation. Notably, a collapsible heel construction allows for easier entry, thereby adding functional flexibility to a classic form.
Positioning within the collaboration’s evolution
Previously, collaborative releases between the two labels often emphasized brighter palettes or metallic details. In contrast, the SFTM-010 shifts toward a muted, earthy spectrum. Consequently, the design places greater emphasis on structure and material contrast rather than visual impact. This restrained approach suggests a focus on longevity and versatility, aligning the release with current consumer demand for understated, investment-oriented footwear.
