Art lovers are in for a treat this week as The Foundry’s winter exhibitions open. The new shows will debut on Wednesday, November 23, and each of the four shows will be unique.
Cycle, an exhibition of mixed media works by Sharjah-born Emirati artist Khalid Al Banna, will be featured in Gallery 3. Al Banna’s project is all about upcycling the world’s most common materials, and it delves into his signature construction and deconstruction processes. Collages within collages are to be expected.
Marc Guiragossian’s paintings, a rising contemporary painter from Lebanon, will be featured in Gallery 4. Marc is the grandson of acclaimed Neo-Expressionist painter Paul Guiragossian, so art runs in his veins. His work explores modernity and tradition, shifting between the past and the present, and is distinguished by a symphony of vibrant color, gestural brushstrokes, and technical rigor.
Gallery 5 will be dedicated to Super Artistic AI (SAAI). It is a one-of-a-kind art and artificial intelligence project that follows a series of events that took place worldwide in 2021 under the banner of the SAAI Project. SAAI is the result of collaboration between international artists, scientists, computer experts, cultural initiatives, and academic institutions.
Venti, Aurae, Anima: Spirit of Fluidity, a collaborative group project by artists Dina Baitassova, Fredrik Nielsen, Louis-Cyprien Rials, and Tahmineh Monzavi, can be found in Gallery 8.
The four artists collaborate using photography, glass-blowing, and painting to reveal the undeniable power that art possesses. There truly is something for everyone.
Foundry also has a co-working space, a library, a cozy café, and a podcast room, in addition to exhibition spaces and art galleries.
So, once you’re done with this fantastic line-up of artwork, you can head over to Foundry’s in-house cafe to treat yourself to some much-deserved beverages.
Foundry will start from 23rd, November to 19th, January at Dubai Downtown Boulevard. https://foundry.downtowndubai.ae/
