Let your creative imaginations run wild as the DALL-E 2 AI text-to-image generator is finally available to the general public to use. OpenAI announced the much-awaited news on the 28th of September.
DALL-E 2, was initially open only to 200 beta testers, which included an assortment of artists and researchers hand-selected by the company. Around 1.5 million people have so far been granted access to DALL-E. On a side note, the bot’s daily schedule is crowded with 2 million images generated daily, claimed by OpenAI.
OpenAI had restricted access during its beta testing phase to review feedback and improve on its fail-safes to prevent violent, sexual, and misleading images that could be used to spread false information. Users could also be banned for creating images using triggering words, and while using names of actual persons.
These safety systems are now stronger, based on the feedback they had received, says OpenAI. DALL-E 2 also has received new features like Outpainting, which allows users to create on larger canvases instead of a default square.
So, get out there and explore the limits of your creativity. But remember to do so consciously and responsibly.
