Genesis has officially introduced the X Gran Equator Concept, its first adventure-focused vehicle, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. Designed for modern explorers who crave both sophistication and rugged performance, the concept marks a bold expansion of Genesis’ design philosophy into lifestyle-oriented vehicles.
A New Vision of “Athletic Elegance”
The X Gran Equator Concept challenges traditional SUV design by merging coupe-inspired aesthetics with robust off-road features. Its silhouette features a long hood and a fast-sloping C-pillar, complemented by sleek, uninterrupted surfaces that exude refined strength. Also, the rugged design elements like chunky wheel-arch cladding, 24-inch beadlock wheels, and geometric auxiliary lamps reinforce the concept’s adventurous spirit. Genesis’ signature Two-Line headlamps and a split-opening tailgate round out the exterior, striking a balance between modern styling and practical utility.
Interior: Where Analog Meets Digital
The cabin continues Genesis’ tradition of fusing form with function. The interior blends analog-inspired craftsmanship with contemporary digital touches, including a distinctive four-circle display cluster modeled after vintage camera dials. Swiveling front seats and modular storage compartments enhance versatility, while contrasting textures and geometric patterns lend the space a sophisticated yet utilitarian edge.
Inspired by Strength and Endurance
The concept takes its name from Equator, a legendary Arabian stallion celebrated for its grace, endurance, and resilience. This symbolic choice mirrors the X Gran Equator’s promise of combining refined design with all-terrain capability.
Although Genesis has yet to confirm whether the X Gran Equator Concept will move into production, the vehicle offers a clear glimpse into the brand’s evolving identity and ambition to enter the adventure-lifestyle market.
Following its public reveal, the X Gran Equator will be on display at Genesis House in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District until July 2025.
