The UAE delegation to the 26th International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Conference will be led by Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and Member of the Dubai Council. The conference will be held in Prague, Czech Republic.

The conference’s subject, “The Power of Museums,” will run from August 20 to August 28. Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, together with other representatives from the UAE’s cultural community, will accompany Sheikha Latifa during her tour.

By attending ICOM 2022, the UAE delegation hopes to improve relations with the global cultural scene and share knowledge and experience about the museum industry.

Muna Faisal AlGurg, CEO of the Culture and Heritage Sector, Mariam Al Afridi, Executive Director of the Chairperson’s Office, and Maryam Mudhaffar Ahli, Project Manager in the Museums Department, are part of the UAE delegation from Dubai Culture. The ICOM-UAE branch of the UAE is represented by a number of ICOM-UAE members from the nation’s museum industry, including Rashad Bukhash, the chapter’s interim chair.
