Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, attended the fourth edition of the Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert Festival, held at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve. Running until 12 January 2025, the festival aims to promote the local film industry and serve as a platform for established and emerging filmmakers.
Celebrating Film, Art, and Innovation
Under the theme ‘Where Stories Come to Life’, this year’s festival showcases over 80 narrative films, accompanied by musical performances, interactive workshops, and expert-led panels. During her visit, Badri toured the event, viewing art installations by Ghaleb Hawila, Abdulla Lutfi, and Mikhail Antykov, as well as AI-powered displays.
Badri engaged with participants and filmmakers, praising their creativity and acknowledging the festival’s role in fostering Dubai’s cultural identity on the global stage. She reiterated Dubai Culture’s commitment to empowering local talent and cultivating a sustainable creative ecosystem.
