Hiroshi Fujiwara has reworked the Fujifilm GFX100RF into a striking “Fragment Edition,” blending high-end imaging with his signature minimalist approach. The collaboration introduces a deep black, polished aesthetic that stands apart from the standard model. It also elevates the camera into a collectible piece for design fans and photographers alike.
Hand-Polished Deep Black Finish and Signature fragment Details
The special edition keeps the foundation of Fujifilm’s flagship medium-format mirrorless body, yet it transforms the look completely. The top case and anodized aluminum surfaces are hand-polished to achieve a glossy, mirror-like black finish that contrasts sharply with the usual matte texture. Fujiwara’s lightning bolt logo appears on the top case and across select accessories, giving the camera a subtle but distinctive identity.
Inside the system, users will notice more exclusive touches. The startup screen displays the fragment design logo, and the included strap is crafted from a single leather hide for a refined feel. The model also debuts a new FRGMT BW film simulation, which emphasises bold contrast, textured grain and dramatic shadows—traits that strongly appeal to black-and-white photography enthusiasts.
Limited Release Arriving Through a Japan-Only Lottery System
Although the camera maintains the GFX100RF’s core specifications, including its 102-megapixel sensor and advanced processing features, the collaboration positions it as a premium collector item. Priced at ¥998,000 JPY (around $6,375 USD), the Fragment Edition will be available exclusively in Japan through a lottery system operated via Fujifilm Mall. Pre-orders open on December 20, 2025, making this release both rare and highly anticipated.
