Honda has unveiled a redesigned “H” logo as part of the brand’s historic transformation towards electric vehicles. This marks the first significant update to Honda’s logo since the 1980s and reflects the company’s commitment to embracing a new era of mobility. The revamped logo will be featured on Honda’s upcoming electric vehicles, including the sedan and SUV models slated for release in 2026 as part of the new Honda 0 Series.

Simplified and Symbolic Design for the Electric Future

The updated logo simplifies the iconic “H” mark by removing the surrounding thin square, resulting in a cleaner, bolder look. The letter “H” retains its curved corners but now has wider upper prongs and a thicker, more squat appearance. This new design draws inspiration from Honda’s original 1960s logo, while also symbolizing the company’s forward-thinking philosophy. According to Honda, the updated logo represents two outstretched hands, emphasizing their dedication to expanding the possibilities of mobility and serving the evolving needs of their EV customers.

The new logo debuted at CES 2024 alongside two Honda 0 Series electric vehicle prototypes, a four-door sedan and an SUV, both featuring the revamped “H” on their front hoods. The branding also appeared on the back of the prototypes with a modern sans-serif Honda wordmark, completing the updated visual identity. This rebranding aligns with Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” development strategy, which focuses on electricity efficiency, artistic design, and a harmonious relationship between the vehicle and its driver. Honda’s move to rebrand follows similar initiatives from other automakers like Jaguar and Lamborghini as they pivot to fully electrified models.
