The Spring of Culture is returning to Bahrain after a two-year absence due to the epidemic. The flagship festival features a diverse schedule of literature, music, art, design, and theatre events to appeal to a wide range of audiences.
Musical, dance, and theatrical performances, as well as lectures, cultural symposiums, art exhibitions, pop-up stores, and architectural launches, are all on the agenda.
The president of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed, spoke during a news conference to launch the festival, which was attended by senior international officials as well as notable local leaders from the world of art and culture.
The most significant development this year is the inclusion of a new venue to the lineup: the newly opened Al Dana Amphitheatre, which is located near Bahrain International Circuit in Zallaq, which hosts the Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix.
The events will take place in Bahrain’s cultural institutions, historical places, and urban landmarks.
Hussain Al Jassmi, an Emirati singer, is scheduled to play at Al Dana Amphitheatre on March 4. On March 10, Palestinian artist Omar Kamal will play at the Bahrain National Theatre, which will also host the UK Philharmonic Orchestra on March 25.
The Cultural Hall will also host a number of international performances, beginning on March 3 with the Great Opera Arias performance by the Italian Teatro Massimo, which will be presented in partnership with the Italian embassy.
