The sculpture is not a fixed-term that applies to a permanently circumscribed class of objects or sets of activities. It is, rather, the name of an art that grows and changes and is frequently extending the range of its activities and evolving new types of objects. Since the turn of the twentieth century, however, the sculpture has additionally enclosed abstract forms. It’s long been accepted that the varieties of such useful three[1]dimensional objects as furniture, pots, and buildings are also communicative and exquisite without being in any way representational; however it had been solely within the 20th century that nonfunctional, nonrepresentational, three-dimensional works of art began to be produced. There are so many various types of sculpting art like casting, modeling, constructing, and assembling.
Raj Shahani an Indian, settled in the United States of America is a sculptor artist. Mr. Shahani is a trendsetter; he follows his style and ways to create his sculptors and works. He aims to spread joy, positivity, and happiness through his amazing artistry. Robert Heinlein once said, “Anybody can look at a pretty girl and see a pretty girl. An artist can look at a pretty girl and see the old woman she will become. A better artist can look at an old woman and see the pretty girl that she used to be. But a great artist-a master-and that is what Auguste Rodin was-can look at an old woman, portray her exactly as she is…and force the viewer to see the pretty girl she used to be…and more than that, he can make anyone with the sensitivity of an armadillo, or even you, see that this lovely young girl is still alive, not old and ugly at all, but simply prisoned inside her ruined body. He can make you feel the quiet, endless tragedy that there was never a girl born who ever grew older than eighteen in her heart…no matter what t h e merciless hours have done to her. Look at her, Ben. Growing old doesn’t matter to you and me; we were never meant to be admired[1]but it does to them.” When one admires Mr. Shahani ‘ s work one can see what exactly he wants to share and add their perception to it, which is so beautiful.
Mr. Shahani who is a self-taught artist takes pride in the fact that he can connect so well the viewers of his artistry, which is supreme. He tries to share a part of himself through his works. The message he wants to share with the fellow artists is, “Just be, create as an expression, not as a career.” When a person loves what they do, and they enjoy it the outcome is always beautiful. Mr. Shahani gives a strong message and it’s something we all needed to hear.
Mr. Shahani’s greatest inspiration and the idol is Rodin. François Auguste René Rodin was a French sculptor generally considered the founder of modern sculpture. Rodin was an extraordinary creative artist and a prolific worker. Rodin possessed a unique ability to model a complex, turbulent, and deeply pocketed surface in clay. He is known for such sculptures as The Thinker, The Kiss, The Burghers of Calais, and The Gates of Hell. Mr. Shahani’s works reflect a lot of Rodin’s artistry which shows how greatly he idolizes him and tries to walk in his path.
