In the cities of the region, art galleries deserve a significant position

We are usually drawn to places that recognise artists and their great endeavours when it comes to the mapping of the arts sector. Our wanderlust won’t be satisfied unless our itineraries are brimming with art galleries that leave us profoundly changed long after we leave. Instilling in our psyches the potential to connect with others over universal themes and meanings that are essential to our existence, art galleries are abodes for our collective memories and experiences. After being immersed in the richness of beauty around us and feeling imbued with a sense of elegance, we leave art galleries feeling rejuvenated, more self-reflective, and imbued with a sense of elegance.

Many cities are seeking to be labelled “creative cities,” which are essentially bustling centres with a tremendous menu of arts-related offerings for the creative class and cultural tourists. When it comes to aesthetic principles, Florence comes out on top, with a plethora of art galleries that leave us in a state of serious awe and admiration. The Uffizi Gallery, for example, has timeless masterpieces by a variety of art artists from the 14th century and Renaissance period, including Sandro Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Caravaggio. Tokyo, on the other hand, boasts an impressive collection of art galleries and museums featuring modern works by local, regional, and international artists.

Art galleries are growing popularity in the Arab world, with a slew of new and established galleries opening their doors to Middle Eastern consumers. In recent years, we’ve seen a slew of prominent galleries establish and expand across the Arab world, from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon to Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. Aficionados of the arts have also been enticed by great domestic art shows and festivals. The 15th edition of the Dubai Art Season is taking place this month, including events such as the Sikka Art & Design Festival, Art Dubai, and World Art Dubai. Saudi Arabia’s entry into the arts scene has opened up new horizons of creative expression, blending traditional and contemporary works. The Riyadh Art project, which aspires to transform the city into a living art gallery with over 1,000 public art works portraying the city’s unique personality and culture, is one of the most important arts initiatives launched in the Kingdom.
