In September 2022, Indian women in Dubai will conduct an awards ceremony to recognize the contributions made by Indian women living in the UAE. More than 30 women will be recognized at this ceremony for their professional and humanitarian achievements.
With more than 45,000 members and founded by Reema Mahajan, Indian Women in Dubai is the largest platform for Indian ex-pat women in the UAE. Reema, an IIT-IIM alumnus, supports the #womensupportingwomen movement.
In the previous year, they collaborated and held a number of activities in the Indian Pavilion at Expo 2020, which was sponsored by the Consulate General of India in Dubai. Their most recent event was a “Hope & Happiness” gathering held at the Majlis Al Amal lounge for the courageous women battling cancer.
Reema Mahajan, a lifestyle influencer and supporter of SMEs and women’s empowerment, who founded IWD in 2020, said the following about the noteworthy occasion: “The launch of our awards have received a resoundingly positive response, and we are thrilled to celebrate and honor all the Indian women who are making outstanding contributions. Children of determination and brave women currently battling cancer will each give a special performance at this year’s event, which aims to highlight diversity and inclusion.”
Mahajan has previously been recognized with awards at various events and has been featured in print publications as well as on radio. She is a strong supporter of the motto, “When women support one another, amazing things happen.”
Attendees at the event will include dignitaries like Bollywood star Mandira Bedi, a powerful woman known for her passion for health and anchoring. Indian Women Awards 2022, a project of Indian Women in Dubai, is a venue to honor and celebrate the sheer grit and enthusiasm our Indian women have demonstrated in a variety of fields of life.
