Jaeger-LeCoultre continues its legacy of precision and artistry with three new versions of the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 and a fresh interpretation of the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel. These timepieces highlight the maison’s dedication to mechanical complexity and refined aesthetics.
The Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 now appears in a pink gold case paired with a brown dial and in two platinum cases: one with a polished bezel and another adorned with 72 baguette-cut diamonds. This case design, exclusive to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most intricate movements, is composed of more than 80 parts. It features alternating polished, brushed, and micro-blasted surfaces with screwed-in lugs, demonstrating the brand’s meticulous craftsmanship.
Dial treatments add layers of visual sophistication. A hand-bevelled bridge spans the dial, while the recessed tourbillon aperture creates depth. Textural contrasts emerge through micro-blasted minute tracks, opaline subdials that shift tone in the light, and laser-engraved calendar numerals. An arc-shaped 20-second scale beneath the tourbillon, along with three blued hands mounted on the cage, emphasises precision as the tourbillon rotates once every 60 seconds. The sapphire crystal caseback reveals Haute Horlogerie finishing, including sunray Côtes de Genève, snailing, and hand-bevelling. A 22k rose-gold rotor engraved with the maison’s 1851 Great Exhibition gold-medal motif completes the display.
The Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel, limited to 50 pieces, debuts with a striking anthracite-grey Grand Feu enamel dial inside an 18k pink gold case. Measuring 40mm, the dial features a hand-guilloché sunray pattern and a circular-guilloché date subdial. Five layers of enamel, each fired at 800 degrees Celsius, create depth and vibrancy. Powered by the latest Calibre 978 tourbillon movement, the watch incorporates a titanium cage and two-level hairspring, all finished by hand. This edition underscores Jaeger-LeCoultre’s ability to merge technical mastery with enduring elegance.
