Jaguar’s Type 00 concept car has been seen driving through the streets of Paris, marking its first public appearance. A newly released video from the British car brand captures the vehicle making its way to a Paris Fashion Week event. Finished in a fresh color named French Ultramarine, the car continues to generate debate among automotive enthusiasts. While some praise its bold design, others find it divisive, calling it a “clunky behemoth.”

Originally unveiled last December at Miami Art Week, the Type 00 concept introduced Jaguar’s new design direction. As the brand transitions to an electric-only lineup, this vehicle serves as a preview of what’s to come. Jaguar Land Rover’s chief creative officer, Gerry McGovern, described it as “a pure expression of Jaguar’s new creative philosophy.” He emphasized that its striking presence is a result of “brave, unconstrained creative thinking.”
Expanding the Type 00’s Color Palette
At its initial unveiling, Jaguar showcased the Type 00 in two distinct shades—Miami Pink and London Blue. The Paris Fashion Week debut introduced French Ultramarine to the lineup, reinforcing the concept’s avant-garde appeal. Despite the excitement, Jaguar clarified that the Type 00 remains a concept, stating in the video’s caption that it is a “non-production vehicle.”
Although not intended for direct production, the concept’s design elements will influence an upcoming four-door sedan. According to Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover, this production vehicle is set to be revealed later this year.
A New Era for Jaguar
The release of the Type 00 follows Jaguar’s widely discussed rebrand, which sparked mixed reactions. Accompanied by an ad campaign that some criticized for its abstract approach, the rebrand was positioned as “unique and fearless.” McGovern described the new identity as “built around exuberant modernism,” emphasizing boldness and artistic expression at every level.
With the Type 00, Jaguar aims to redefine its future, blending innovation with striking aesthetics. As the brand moves toward electrification, this concept car serves as a glimpse into the next chapter of Jaguar’s legacy.
