At the Mall of Dilmunia in Muharraq, the Bangladeshi Embassy organized a three-week solo art exhibition by renowned Bangladeshi independent artist Jahangir Hossain. The public may view the “Life in Motion” display through February 13, 2023.
It was sponsored by Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain’s National Council for Arts, and staged in conjunction with the “Colors of the East” art exhibition.
Dhuwa Bint Shaikha In front of dignitaries, Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, a member of the National Arts Council, opened the show on Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa’s behalf.
The event was attended by foreign diplomats, high Bahraini government officials, Bahrain National Council for Arts members, well-known businessmen, artists, journalists, embassy officials, and Bangladeshi expatriate community members in Bahrain.
The Daily Tribune interviewed Hossain, 58, who said: “The Bahraini people have odd options when it comes to art. I think such choices are suited for my approach because I did a thorough analysis of their preferences and viewpoints.
You can view and buy a range of original paintings at this exhibition. Compared to the normal artist, you can see a spectrum of six to seven more skills. I want to encourage young Bahrainis to visit the show and support the next generation of designers.
More than 90 paintings were displayed in Hossain’s second exhibition in the Kingdom. He had exhibitions in the past in Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and London.
He runs art workshops professionally with the intention of encouraging more artists. The Embassy worked with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities to present Hossain’s works in Bahrain at his first solo exhibition, “Hope of Life,” in 2021. (BACA).
The best painting Hossain has ever created, which he got at the 2017 London Art Biennale, is on display this year. Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, the ambassador of Bangladesh to Bahrain, expressed his happiness at organizing Hossain’s solo art exhibition for a second time in Bahrain. Dr. Islam complimented the Kingdom for its extensive artistic and cultural heritage.
