JJJJound has teamed up with Korean artist Gyuhan Lee to release a new line of paper lamps. Known for his upcycled lanterns, Lee transforms packaging into collectible objects. This collaboration marks JJJJound’s first venture beyond fashion, and the lamps will drop on June 5 via JJJJound.com.
The project gives packaging materials a second life. Inspired by minimalist architecture, the square-shaped lamps are available in two sizes. When switched off, they resemble cardboard parcels. Once lit, however, they emit a warm, ambient glow that highlights their crafted nature.
Turning Branding into Craft
Lee used JJJJound’s own paper bags and box tape for the designs. He layered them with Hanji paper—a traditional Korean material often found in historic interiors. This combination merges contemporary branding with centuries-old craftsmanship.
JJJJound’s approach has always favoured subtle, quality-focused design updates. In this collaboration, they apply the same ethos by transforming discarded materials into high-end home decor.
A Broader Movement in Design
Lee’s past works include repurposed materials from McDonald’s bags to Hermès blotting paper. Each piece blends familiar consumer waste with refined craftsmanship. His style aligns with a growing design trend that reimagines everyday items as collectible art.
The JJJJound x Gyuhan Lee lamps will release on June 5 at 12 PM EST, available exclusively on JJJJound.com.
