Kith, the innovative New York-based lifestyle brand founded by Ronnie Fieg, has reimagined its iconic collaboration with adidas, releasing the “Black Tie 2.0” Superstar — a refreshed version of the 2008 “Black Tie” design.
The Legacy of the “Black Tie”
First released in 2008, the original Black Tie was a groundbreaking collaboration, designed to bridge the gap between formal and casual footwear. Crafted from high-quality black leather with a multi-layered toe, it was designed to pair seamlessly with both suits and casual outfits. Additionally, the sneakers came with a matching tie, making it a unique release that dropped on Black Friday.
What’s New in “Black Tie 2.0”?
After 17 years, the “Black Tie 2.0” is now even more luxurious.
Key updates include:
- Black leather upper, inspired by dress shoes for a refined look.
- Glossy patent leather toe for added shine.
- Waxed shoelaces for a polished finish.
- Debossed Kith branding and “Kith & Kin” engraving on the tongue and insole, adding exclusivity to the sneaker.
Debut at the “INSTITUTION” Runway Show
The “Black Tie 2.0” will make its debut at the “INSTITUTION” runway show on August 17th (local time), giving fashion enthusiasts a first look at the high-end sneaker. A full release is scheduled for Fall 2025, though it has yet to be confirmed whether the sneaker will be available in Japan.
