After four years in operation, the beachfront destination in Dubai is closing, and the southern premises, the Jumeirah 1’s entire strip will be redeveloped.

Three venues will continue to be active at the northern site: Al Shorea, Filli, and Starbucks. But the shopping and dining district close to the water park, La Mer Central, will remain open.

With more than 130 restaurants, cafés, and stores in addition to a movie theater and Laguna Waterpark, La Mer, which opened in 2018, was designed to be a major tourist destination and a magnet for Dubai locals.

The developer of La Mer, City Walk in Al Wasl, and The Beach in JBR, Merex Investment, has revealed intentions to rebrand La Mer.
