Le Labo has opened the doors of Kyoto to the world with the global release of OSMANTHUS 19, its latest City Exclusive fragrance. Available internationally until September 30, this limited-time launch coincides with the brand’s annual City Exclusive Event, which gives global access to scents traditionally confined to specific cities.
Inspired by Kyoto’s Wabi-Sabi soul
Crafted as an aromatic tribute to the ancient-meets-modern identity of Kyoto, OSMANTHUS 19 blends heritage and nuance. The scent draws inspiration from Le Labo’s Kyoto flagship store, located inside a restored machiya—an old wooden townhouse—where earthy textures meet minimalist design. The fragrance is described by the brand as “a reminder to continually seek our impermanent, untamable beauty,” embracing the Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic.
Its composition opens with smoky incense and aromatic lavender, followed by the namesake osmanthus flower at its heart. The base settles into woody tones, evoking the quiet beauty of Kyoto’s winter. The osmanthus bloom, rare and fleeting, only emerges as the seasons turn and nature retreats—mirroring the perfume’s reflective, serene mood.
Limited-time access to Le Labo’s iconic City Exclusives
Until September 30, OSMANTHUS 19 joins Le Labo’s full City Exclusive collection, which includes standout scents like Myrrhe 55 (Shanghai), Citron 28 (Seoul), and Coriandre 39 (Mexico City). While full-size bottles of OSMANTHUS 19 will be available starting September 1, discovery sets and samples are now live on the Le Labo website for early exploration.
This rare opportunity offers fragrance lovers a chance to journey beyond borders and into the soul of Kyoto—one bottle at a time.
