The London Book Fair’s star is Sharjah. Until Thursday, the emirate is the focus of attention at London Olympia, where a constellation of pavilions cater to numerous cultural organizations. The Sharjah Book Authority manages to grab the viewers to the main pavilion, which is located in Hall 6.
The ambassadors of Sharjah’s thriving cultural sectors, including representatives, managers, and salespeople for institutions such as the House of Wisdom, Sharjah Publishing City, Sharjah University, the publishing house Kalimat, and the Emirates Intellectual Property Association, are housed within the stand, which includes room for panel sessions, a majlis, working booths, and even a television studio.
Chairman Ahmed Al Ameri says the goal is to solidify the emirate’s position as a global cultural powerhouse. Sharjah has been designated as the year’s market focus for the fair.
Further he states;”Being appointed as the Market Focus for the book fair is akin to being invited as a guest of honor to the event. And this is particularly significant because Sharjah is the first Arab city to do so in London.”
By coming here, we are giving people a peek of what Sharjah has to offer. We are announcing to the rest of the world that we have literature, education, culture, tradition, and history from which people can learn.
