Mercedes-Benz has launched ‘PROTOTYPE’, an exhibition that explores the intersection of art, technology, and innovation at Studio Odeonsplatz, Munich, running from January 25 to March 22, 2025. Organized by the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection and curator Christopher Dake-Outhet, the exhibition presents works from six contemporary artists who challenge the concept of prototypes through physical and digital mediums.
Artists and Their Unique Concepts
The exhibition features Simon Denny, who integrates blockchain technology into hybrid paintings inspired by Benz concept cars. Salomé Chatriot merges organic elements with digital renderings of breath, while Paul Seidler explores alternative time systems. Sarah Friend redefines digital security through an automotive Smart Key, and Theo Triantafyllidis introduces a multiplayer game reimagining digital interaction. Additionally, Harm van den Dorpel presents a blockchain-based collection reflecting the motion of spoked wheels.
