Meta and Oakley Launch AI-Powered Oakley Meta HSTN Glasses

Meta and Oakley have introduced the Oakley Meta HSTN, a next-generation wearable that blends performance design with artificial intelligence. Marking the first product of a long-term collaboration, the new smart eyewear aims to create what the two brands call “a new category of Performance AI glasses.”

Bold tech, futuristic features, athlete-ready design


Pronounced “HOW-stuhn,” the Oakley Meta HSTN is designed for hands-free, high-resolution first-person video capture and voice-controlled interaction. Built with a 3K camera, open-ear speakers, and IPX4-rated water and sweat resistance, the glasses deliver up to eight hours of use per charge. The charging case provides an additional 48 hours of power, ensuring all-day readiness.

Meta AI is fully integrated into the experience, functioning as a voice-activated assistant that can plan workouts, answer queries, and activate video recording. The eyewear comes in six variants, three of which feature Oakley’s proprietary PRIZM lens technology. The limited-edition model, celebrating Oakley’s 50th anniversary, includes gold accents and 24K PRIZM polarized lenses.

Oakley and Meta chart a new direction in wearables


According to Alex Himel, Meta’s VP of Wearables, the collaboration reflects a shared vision to meet the needs of athletes through connected eyewear. “Glasses have emerged as the ideal tool for people to listen to music, capture videos,” Himel said. Luxottica, which owns both Oakley and Ray-Ban, is expanding its AI wearables strategy through this launch. Rocco Basilico, Chief Wearables Officer at Luxottica, noted, “Oakley Meta sets a new standard and marks a bold new chapter for connected eyewear.”

Availability and pricing


The limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN will be available for pre-order starting July 11, priced at £499 GBP / $499 USD / €549 EUR. The full lineup, compatible with prescription lenses, launches later this summer with models starting at £399 GBP / $399 USD / €439 EUR.
