The Museum of the Future in Dubai has launched a new lecture series titled “Lessons from the Past at Museum of the Future,” set to commence in February 2025. Led by the globally renowned historian and researcher Dr. Roy Casagranda, this exclusive series will delve into key moments in human history, exploring their relevance to modern-day challenges and forward-thinking innovation.

A Unique Fusion of History and Future Insights

Each of the 10 lectures in the series will run for one hour, featuring an intimate setting with a maximum of 50 participants per session. Prospective attendees can secure their spots by registering on the Museum of the Future’s official website. Topics will cover an eclectic mix of historical milestones, including the legacy of polymath Ibn Sina, Sultan Mehmed II’s conquests, and the stories of the Apache tribes.

Dr. Casagranda, celebrated for his interactive teaching style, will provide in-depth explorations of these subjects, combining historical analysis with future-oriented perspectives. His expertise spans Middle Eastern politics, political philosophy, and historical research, making him an ideal guide for this intellectually stimulating program.

Majed Al Mansoori

Executive Director of the Museum of the Future

“The Lessons from the Past series aims to provide a transformative intellectual experience that deepens our understanding of the present and inspires a brighter future,” said Majed Al Mansoori. Al Mansoori highlighted the initiative as a cornerstone of the museum’s 2025 strategic vision, fostering cultural dialogue and cross-generational learning.

Bridging Generations Through Historical Dialogue

Dr. Casagranda expressed his enthusiasm for this unique opportunity, emphasizing the critical role history plays in addressing modern challenges. “History is not merely a recounting of past events—it is a powerful tool for understanding present challenges and envisioning the future,” he remarked.

Participants will gain valuable insights into the pivotal events that shaped civilisations and apply these lessons to innovative thinking and problem-solving. The series underscores the museum’s mission to be a hub of lifelong learning, bridging cultural and generational divides.
