Nike continues its Protro series with the return of the Kobe 3, aligning the release with Kobe Bryant’s birthday on August 23 and Kobe Day on August 24. This latest iteration, named the Nike Kobe 3 Protro “Halo,” represents the most ambitious design update in the line to date. Originally inspired by basketball nets, the shoe now integrates mesh backing for improved containment and airflow.
Design Details and Performance Upgrades
The upper showcases a new diamond pattern, paying tribute to Kobe’s eldest daughter, Natalia Diamanté. Beyond aesthetics, performance enhancements define the shoe. Nike has replaced the smaller Air Zoom units with a full-length Zoom Strobel, supported by a Cushlon 3.0 midsole. This combination aims to deliver both responsiveness and comfort. Additionally, an updated traction pattern helps optimize grip for athletes.
Release Details and Pricing
Part of Nike’s third annual all-white “Halo” drop, the Kobe 3 Protro launches on August 23 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. The shoe will retail at $210 USD, and fans can expect more colorways to follow in the near future.
