Nike has officially unveiled the Stranger Things x Nike Dunk Low “Phantom/Midnight Navy,” coinciding with the upcoming fifth season of the hit Netflix series. The collaboration captures the mysterious essence of The Upside Down, blending nostalgia and storytelling through one of Nike’s most iconic silhouettes.
A Design Rooted in Storytelling
The sneaker features a cracked leather upper, a nod to the decaying and otherworldly texture of the show’s alternate dimension. Subtle details such as inverted Nike logos on the tongue, insole, and heel further pay tribute to the sinister theme. Additionally, handwritten callouts beneath the eyestays enhance the narrative, referencing key elements from the series.
To complete the look, the design includes a pre-yellowed midsole, giving the pair a “forgotten relic” feel — as if pulled directly from Hawkins itself. This vintage aesthetic ties perfectly with the show’s 1980s setting and the Dunk’s retro appeal.
A Second Pair on the Horizon
While this release takes center stage, another Dunk Low in “Black/Speed Red–Varsity Red–Anthracite” is expected to follow. Although its official release date remains unconfirmed, the “Phantom/Midnight Navy” colorway is set to launch on November 6 via Nike and select retailers for $155 USD.
Originally teased back in June, early images shared by @yyt_snkrs offered a first glimpse of the design. The photos revealed off-white cracked leather uppers, navy-blue panel swooshes, and flipped branding — all of which remain consistent with the final reveal. Together, these pairs celebrate the crossover between pop culture and sneaker heritage, continuing Nike’s tradition of storytelling through design.
